Parallel to this supernatural narrative runs a disturbing real-world plotline involving a sinister hakim (Rajat Kapoor) in Old Delhi who preys on vulnerable women for his dark, esoteric practices, believing he can extract their life essence to prolong his own. His path eventually crosses with Madhuri’s, leading to a dangerous scheme that also involves Ilu Mishra (Geetanjali Kulkarni), a troubled police constable searching for her missing son who has become entangled with the hakim.

“Khauf” masterfully blends the eerie elements of a ghost story with the very real terrors that women face in a patriarchal society, particularly in a city like Delhi with its history of violence against women.
